SUBSEA

SCDMS® is NIST 800-171 compliant document management, providing secure layers of protection for all of our subscribers.

SCDMS® is the only patented NIST 800-171 compliant Submarine Cable Document Management System.

SCDMS® meets 110 out of 110 NIST security controls, and has met the criteria to be listed in the DoD Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS).

What is NIST SP 800-171?
What about SCDMS and NIST Compliance?
What is CMMC 2.0?
What are the DFARS?
What is NIST SP 800-171?

National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 is a program of 14 families and 110 controls of security best practices that are recommended by the US Government.

When building SCDMS®, Global Broadband Solutions made the business decision to build the system according to NIST 800-171 standards to ensure the most secure environment for our SCDMS® customers.

What about SCDMS and NIST Compliance?

SCDMS® is the ONLY Patented NIST Compliant Submarine Cable Document Management System in the Industry.

The SCDMS® Security Team has been preparing since the NIST 800-171 mandate was announced in 2017.

Add SCDMS® as a component of your US Government project for greater compliance and award opportunity.

What is CMMC 2.0?

CMMC stands for “Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification”.

CMMC 2.0 will encompass 3 Maturity Models that range from “Foundational” to “Expert.”

Levels 1 is comprised of basic security controls capable of handling Federal Contract Information (FCI), while Level 2 "Advanced" is the requirement for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), per NIST 800-171 requirements.

Level 3 is reserved for defense contractors who are working in a context of advanced persistent threats, and will be necessary for a smaller group of contractors.

The intent is to incorporate CMMC into the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and use it as a requirement for contract awards.

SCDMS is already preparing to be CMMC 2.0 compliant in both GBS (our parent-company) and SCDMS operations and handling of CUI.

GBS & SCDMS® Have Been Independently Audited for Compliance.

What are the DFARS?

The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS) are laws, regulations, policies, and procedures administered by the Department of Defense (DoD) in support of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

For the purposes of document management, DFARS 252.204-7012 and 204-7021 cover the requirements for Safeguarding Covered Defense Information and Cyber Incident Reporting.

The DFARS influence and regulate the manner in which information is stored for businesses that serve the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). In order to maintain safety of information and infrastructure, the management of all documents - and the associated procedures/polices - should be tightly controlled.

NIST Special Publication 800-171 defines this at a granular level, providing 110 security controls covering personnel, policies and procedures necessary to maintaining readiness to receive Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) on behalf the US Federal government.
